The article deals with opportunities to improve the sustainability of transport companies. analysis literature sources has shown a large number measures implemented by global community in order protect environment. greatest damage atmosphere among all modes is caused road transport. Many are related it. All actions were differentiated into three categories: structural changes, organisational changes and legislative changes. Each category was characterised examples given.
